Along with the entire hospitality industry, we’re busy gearing up for the world’s leading travel trade show: ITB Berlin 2017. Starting March 8, Messe Berlin will see its halls traversed by hoteliers, tour operators, travel agencies, tech providers, and suppliers from across the globe. With a 90% overall attendee satisfaction rating and €7 billion in business turnover, this is the show where supply meets demand. And we’re thrilled to be taking part.

Metasearch & Co.: The Invisible Battle for the Guest

Day one of ITB Berlin 2017 kicks off with ITB Future Day. We’ll listen to the brightest minds in the business talking about the latest trends and industry disruptions. And of course, we’ll share all these insights with you here on the blog.

Throughout the entire event, our booth (#315 in Hall 9C) will be manned by a dedicated team of hotel metasearch marketing specialists, helping hoteliers succeed in their quests for guests and enabling connectivity providers to connect their clients to the trivago marketplace. We’ll be demonstrating how trivago Hotel Manager in particular empowers hoteliers to rank higher up in trivago search results and drive direct bookings to their own websites.

We’re also happy to have the Base7booking team joining us at the booth this year. Over the course of ITB Berlin 2017’s three B2B days, they’ll showcase how their cloud-based property management system simplifies the busy lives of hoteliers. Base7booking’s customizable and expandable system is ideal for properties with up to 100 rooms, and is already being used by hoteliers in over 45 countries to save time and money, streamline operations, and increase occupancy.

On day two, Johannes Thomas, Managing Director at trivago, will join Tobias Ragge, CEO of HRS, and Marius Donhauser, owner of Hotel Der Salzburger Hof and founder of the operations and communications software company hotelkit, in a panel discussion: “Metasearch & Co.: The Invisible Battle for the Guest.” The panel of experts will address one of the most pressing questions for the future of hotel marketing: How much influence do platforms have on the online performance of hoteliers?

With over half of all hotel bookings now being completed online, hotels and booking sites are battling one another to win the business of travellers searching online for accommodations. For hotel managers without big marketing budgets at their disposal, competing against the larger booking sites is that much more challenging. But it doesn’t have to be that way, as metasearch marketing empowers hoteliers to take control of their online success and reduce their dependencies on distribution channels.

The founder and managing director of Quality Reservations, Carolin Brauer, will moderate and panelists will discuss the influence of different platforms on hoteliers’ online performance, as well as the new opportunities that metasearch marketing presents.
